Cricket Team

Silton Cricket Club plays in the Northallerton and District Evening Cricket League — six teams, Thursday evenings starting at 6.30pm, all summer long. We play on the iconic grounds of Nether Silton and we’re a community team through and through. Winning is nice, but a good game with good company, followed by a cold pint at the Inn, is what it’s really about. All standards welcome.

Playing in North Yorkshire

There’s something very special about cricket in the North Yorkshire countryside. Our season runs from May through to August, with the League Grand Final on Sunday 16 August. Matches are on Thursday evenings, with the team heading back to The Gold Cup Inn afterwards for a debrief — and a well-earned pint.

Our ground at Nether Silton has caught the attention of cricket fans right across the country — as seen in the video below, where a well-known cricket influencer paid us a visit and couldn’t help but share it with their audience.

If you’ve always wanted to try cricket, now is the perfect time. We have players who can help coach beginners, and we always need fielders, enthusiastic tail-enders, and people who know how to keep the scorebook straight.
