Own a stake in the pub's future

Community Share Offer

The Gold Cup Inn is now a registered Community Benefit Society, and this is your chance to own a part of it. By buying shares you become a member of the Society, with an equal say in how our pub is run and a direct stake in keeping it at the heart of Nether Silton, Over Silton, Kepwick and Cowesby for generations to come.

This is a one-off opportunity to protect a key part of our area’s heritage. Shares start at just £100, every member gets one vote regardless of how much they invest, and the money raised goes entirely towards securing and running the pub.

£100 minimum

Shares are £100 each (in multiples of £100), up to a maximum of £20,000. The first £1 is your membership share.

One member, one vote

Every member has an equal vote at the Annual Members’ Meeting, no matter the size of their shareholding.

A long-term investment

Shares are withdrawable after a minimum of three years, at the Committee’s discretion, and may earn modest interest from Year 3.

About the offer

The Gold Cup Inn Community Benefit Society Limited is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (Society number 9761). The share offer opened on 10 June 2026, with the community takeover of the pub planned from 1 July 2026.

We are aiming to raise between £13,000 and £30,000, with an optimal target of £15,000. This funds the start-up costs of taking on the pub, including the lease, opening stock, equipment and working capital. If we do not reach the minimum target, every investor is refunded in full.

Buying shares makes you a member of the Society and gives you a vote on how the pub is run. The value of shares cannot rise, but members may vote to pay modest interest from Year 3 onwards, subject to how the business performs. Please read the full Share Prospectus below before applying, as it sets out the plan, the finances and the risks in detail.
